This blog is intended to incite discussion about the Disability Rights Movement through sharing personal experiences.

It is very likely that you have been impacted without realizing it. Something as simple as breaking your leg and being confined to crutches for a month can make you realize quickly how important accessibility is in public buildings. Whether you have to take an elevator up a flight of stairs or collect short term disability, it is important to remember these services did not always exist. People fought years to make change happen.

Have you ever been personally affected by disability, whether it was long-term or short-term?  Do you know others who struggle daily with the constraints of disability?  How have they overcome them?
